La datazione ipotizzata del manufatto è il 100- 86 a.C.
Come in numerosissimi altri pozzi sacri nuragici (vedi quelli della zona di Oristano) sono stati rinvenuti alcuni degli oggetti votivi che vi erano depositati durante i riti lustrali, miracolosamente conservati.
In questo caso, sono state trovate due statue: una rara statua in legno rappresentante indiscutibilmente un pugilatore (simbolo identitario che conferma la perdurante dominazione Shardana della Grecia in quel periodo storico, malgrado l'invasione fosse stata di molto precedente) ed una statua in marmo, rappresentante una donna seduta su un daino.
(N.B.: Non si è del tutto certi del 'daino' potrebbe trattarsi di uno 'zaino' o di un 'Caino': si attende il benestare definitivo di epigrafisti autodidatti improvvisati per dirimere il dubbio: non si vede perché una donna dovrebbe sedersi su uno zaino, mentre sedersi su Caino avrebbe molte buone ragioni d'essere).
Ancient Greek well yields rare wooden statue
Archaeologists in Greece have uncovered a rare wooden statue preserved in the muddy depths of an ancient well in Piraeus, the port of Athens.

A Culture Ministry statement said Tuesday that the roughly half-metre (20-inch) high dressed male figure was found without its head, hands and feet, together with broken pottery dating to about 100-86 B.C.
It was unclear who the statue might depict.
The piece was found during an excavation of ancient wells in central Piraeus, where a new subway line will be built.

Ancient wooden artefacts are uncommon discoveries in Greece as climate conditions do not favour their preservation.
The ministry statement said the well also contained part of an ancient marble statue of a woman seated on a deer.
